Shoe Tying and Growing Up

After 10 years, ten long years, Lukas has finally learned to tie his shoes.

It has been a struggle.

So proud of him.  The kind of proud that makes me want to lift my middle finger and say, ‘ha, negativity be damned, my son can do anything‘.

He can do anything. We’ve always taught him that. We share all kinds of stories of people with disabilities so that he can see what can be accomplished when the odds are against him.

It finally paid off.

No longer will we tolerate ‘I can’t do this‘.

No, son, you can.
